ANONYMOUS: ". A paying job (even without a raise) is better than no job. " I would agree with you if I didn't know that the executives are getting LOTS of extra money at the expense of the IBM minions. Until the execs are "suffering" with the rest of us, that is NOT A LEGITIMATE ARGUMENT.
I worked at IBM for 34 years. Starting with Gerstner IBM has continuously become less interested in their employees and more interested in money. (I'll bet the Execs get their raises).
Nothing worse than some dumb fool saying, "Be happy you have a job." You may as well tell your boss he can sleep with your wife too.
While getting a raise is always a good thing, and very needed I would say that those folks who got to keep their jobs should be happy with that. A paying job (even without a raise) is better than no job. I would think that they would realize that.
