Lenovo cashes in on Australian school deal – 220,000 laptops

Morrisville, N.C. —
Students and teachers in the New South Wales schools of Australia will soon be getting some 220,000 lapbooks from Lenovo.
The IdeaPad S10e models will be equipped with Windows XP. Lenovo won the contract in a competitive bidding process.
"Production of the laptops for 200,000 senior secondary school students and 25,000 secondary teachers will begin immediately," said Nathan Rees, premier of New South Wales, in a statement. "I want them in classrooms as soon as possible.
