Private equity firm buys N.C.-based DNA, forensic crime products firm
Point Lookout Capital Partners is the new owner of Tri-Tech, a provider of DNA collection and forensic crime scene investigation products.
Point Lookout is based in New York.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Tri-Tech, which was founded in 1983, will retain its name and product names as well as existing management, according to Point Lookout. Tri-Tech designs, produces and markets a variety of kits that are used by crime labs, law enforcement agencies and militaries around the world.
“Tri-Tech has had an outstanding reputation in the forensics market for many years,” said James Cesare, managing partner of Point Lookout, in a statement. “Given the increasing levels of accountability required from the judicial system, crime scene investigation products are becoming more sophisticated and the users are demanding higher quality products.”
