Inc. Magazine names iContact fastest growing software company in North Carolina
DURHAM – iContact has been ranked 85th on Inc. Magazine’s 2008 Inc. 500. That designation makes it the fastest growing company in the Triangle on the Inc. 500 list, and the fastest growing software company in North Carolina, company representatives released on Wednesday.
The Inc. 500 list is based on the percentage growth in a company’s revenue over a four-year period. iContact has had a 2,114.3% growth rate since 2003, according to the company.
Additional companies on the list will be honored at the Inc. 500 Awards Ceremony on Sept. 20 in Washington D.C.
“At sixteen years old I started my first business with the goal of someday being listed on the Inc. 500,” commented Aaron Houghton, Chairman and Co-Founder of iContact. “I never imagined that it would happen in the 2008. Being the 85th fastest growing private company in the United States is exhilarating. I'm proud to be sharing this honor with all of our team.”
Ryan Allis, CEO and Co-Founder of iContact, added: “Being on the Inc. 500 is an honor, but to be in the top 100 on the list is amazing testament to our team. Our hardworking, dedicated rock star team is the reason we have achieved this award. They epitomize the entrepreneurial spirit and customer-centric focus that allows us to stand apart from our competition. I am truly honored to work with them every day.”
Since its inception in 2003, iContact has more than 30,000 customers and 110 employees and is an industry leader in email marketing services for small businesses and non-profits.
