The effect of the IBM layoffs is much greater than just putting Americans out of work. It demonstrates IBM's lack of patriotism, and negative impact on the American social environment. Looks to me this is just a way to cut pay of people that are about to retire in exchange for a pledge not to lay them off.
So, more layoffs are coming for IBM? Is that what this is telling us?
