N.C. Biofuels Center adds former ambassador James Cain to board
Oxford, N.C. — Three private sector executives have been added to the board of directors for the Biofuels Center of North Carolina.
The board also added several political appointees, expanding its total membership to 34.
The Biofuels Center is focused on growing the biofuels industry across the state.
On Thursday, the Center will host its annual “Field Day” at its campus in Oxford.
New at-large members are:
• Former U.S. ambassador and Carolinas Hurricanes executive James Cain of Cain Global Partners
• Mike Lanahan of Agrivida, Inc.
• Phil Benfey, chief executive officer of GrassRoots Biotechnology
Board selections made by political officials include:
• Helga Leftwich • Partner, Hutchison Law Group
• Jeffrey Ramsdell, Professor and Director, Appalachian Energy Center, Appalachian State University
• Brian A. Roth • Mayor, Town of Plymouth
• Bill Holman • Director of State Policy, Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions, Duke University
