CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A General Dynamics production facility in Charlotte has plenty of work coming.
General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products said its Charlotte plant would be the site for production of Joint Biological Point Detection Systems for the Pentagon.
The company landed a $30 million contract for production and support of the devices. However, the deal could be worth much more. The contract covers six years and could include products and services totaling $300 million.
Since 2001, General Dynamics has provided more than 700 of the detection units to the military.
Some 120 people work at the Charlotte facility.
