Charlotte entrepreneurs form tech exec council

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – A group of technology entrepreneurs is teaming up to form the Charlotte Regional Technology Council.
The council is similar to the Triangle Technology Executive Council.
The Charlotte group known as CRTEC wants to create a forum for economic development and continuing education.
Paul Solitario, managing partner at Tobin Solitario Investment Banking Group, is a founding member of the group and serves as president.
“CRTEC’s vision is to be the premier forum for networking and collaboration between technology executives in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.,” Solitario said in a statement. “The organization will provide ongoing candid deliberation on key technology issues facing our executive community, and promote social networking to foster the development of relationships essential to each member’s success. We expect to be considered an essential resource for the development and success of technology executives in the region.”
CRTEC has more than 40 members and has already put on two events.
A third event is scheduled for Sept. 15. Guest speaker will be Richard Hipp, who founded software firm SQLite in 2000. The database software firm’s clients include General Electric, Toshiba and Sun Microsystems.
CRTEC is accepting new members. Events are invitation only.
