BBC signs on to use video broadcast technology from Inlet

RALEIGH, N.C. – Add the BBC to the growing list of broadcasting and professional sports entities utilizing video compression and broadcast technology from Inlet Technologies.
BBC plans to utilize Inlet’s “Spinnaker” live video streaming appliances for Wimbledon tennis as well as F1 Grand prix coverage.
Inlet supports simultaneous video outputs for multiple types of devices as well as subtitling.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Inlet last week announced that it was working with the Australian Broadcasting Company.
The company, which is privately held and venture capital backed, also works with Major League baseball, NBC, Microsoft and other firms.
Inlet investors include Capitol Broadcasting, the parent of Local Tech Wire.
