Gentris names UNC-CH professor as consulting medical director

MORRISVILLE, N.C. – Karen Weck, director for Molecular Genetics at UNC-Chapel Hill, will work with Gentris Corporation as a consulting medical director.
Gentris is focused on research and development of biomarkers.
Weck will work with Gentris’ Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments certification program.
At UNC-CH, Weck is also associate director of Molecular Pathology for the School of Medicine, and associate director of the UNC Institute of Pharmacogenomics and Individualized Therapy. She also is an associate professor of both Genetics and Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
Weck earned her medical degree at Duke University and is certified in molecular genetic pathology as well as clinical pathology.
