RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Two venture-capital backed startups in the Triangle that focus on video-related technology are among the Red Herring “Top 100 Winners.”
Inlet Technologies focuses on video compression technology.
Digitalsmiths, meanwhile, works with clients to monetize video with sophisticated search and related technology.
KnowledgeTree also cracked the lists. It focuses on data management.
The winners were announced last weekend at the Red Herring 100 North America Forum.
More than 200 finalists were considered from an original field of some 1,000 companies.
“Red Herring’s Top 100 North America list is recognized for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs,” Red Herring said in a statement. “Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Hotmail, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay would change the way we live and work.”
