CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Hewitt Associates, a provider of human resource services through outsourcing and consulting, is going to expand its Charlotte-based workforce with 463 jobs over the next three years.
The Illinois-based company received a Job Development Investment Grant from the state of North Caronia as an incentive to grow in N.C.
The new jobs will be for administration and information technology. They will pay some $43,600 per year plus benefits.
Hewitt (NYSE: HEW) has more than 3,000 corporate clients, providing services such as payroll, retirement programs and health care administration.
Some 530 of its global 23,000 work force already are based in N.C.
“We’re pleased with the growth prospects for our business, and particularly our Charlotte center,” said David Swift, vice president of HR Business Processing Outsourcing at Hewitt, in a statement “Charlotte is a great location for us to expand our business due to the available talent pool and we very much look forward to growing our presence here with the continued support of the state of North Carolina.”
The expansion and JDIG were announced by Gov. Bev Perdue.
Hewitt could receive as much as $4 million through the JDIG, which is a rebate of state withholding taxes based upon new hires and other performance targets. N.C. also awarded Hewitt a JDIG in 2005 but the company terminated that agreement last December.
