Vice President Joe Biden will visit Cree Inc. in Durham Thursday, his office announced.
Biden, who will be traveling with Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, is expected to speak about how federal funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act allowed the LED-maker to purchase new equipment and expand its work force.
Cree (Nasdaq: CREE) got $39 million in federal tax credits in January to boost production of high-efficiency lighting.
