RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - Quintiles, a provider of life science, research and other services to pharmaceutical and medical companies around the world, is expanding its footprint in Africa.
The privately held Durham firm recently opened an operation in Nairobi, Kenya. It already has offices in Ghana and South Africa.
The Kenya office will focus on health efforts and clinical research across Eastern Africa.
Quintiles now operates in 60 countries.
“Like other non-traditional regions before it, Africa will become an important geography for us to reach large populations of patients for a range of therapy areas including oncology and cardiovascular,” said Gillian Corken, chief executive officer for Quintiles Africa.
The Kenya office is staffed by local healthcare professionals as is the Ghana operation.
