• Inspire Pharmaceuticals adds former Roche CEO to board
DURHAM, N.C. – George Abercrombie, a former president and chief executive officer at Hoffmann La Roche, has joined the board of directors at Inspire Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: ISPH).
Abercrombie worked at Roche from 2001 through December of last year. He also was head of North American pharmaceutical operations.
From 1997 through 2001, Abercrombie was a senior vice president at Glaxo Wellcome. He is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill’s pharmacy school.
Adrian Adams was named Inspire’s CEO on Feb. 19. Former CEO Christy Shaffer gave up her seat on the board as part of the transition.
• USfalcon names new group president
MORRISVILLE, N.C. – Doug Richardson, a retired U.S. Air Force brigadier general, is the new president of USfalcon’s Aerospace Solutions Group.
Richardson most recently was an executive with Lockheed Martin. He will oversee USfalcon’s support programs for the military’s Air, Space and Joint Warfighter and Material Commands.
USfalcon is an integrated technology solutions provider with offices in Morrisville as well as New Jersey, Massachusetts, Colorado and Alabama.
• Charlotte firm rolls out SaaS-supported point of sale solution
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Emporos, a provider of pharmacy point of sale solutions for use in hospitals, clinics and retail pharmacies, is rolling out a software-as-a-solution supported point of sale product this week.
Called e-2, it was unveiled at the Healthcare Information and Management System Society’s conference on Monday in Atlanta.
According to Emporos, the system runs across multiple platforms and is supported by a private cloud-computing solution for security and scalability.
