Wake Tech lands $555,680 grant for STEM education program

RALEIGH, N.C. - Wake Tech Community College will launch a new program this fall designed to increase the number of graduates in STEM education.
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.
The program will be backed by a $555,680 grant from the National Science Foundation.
Wake tech is calling the program GREAT, which stands for Graduation, Retention and Expansion of AAS Technicians. AAS refers to Associate of Applied Science degrees.
The degrees:
● Environmental Technology
● Biopharmaceutical Technology
● Mechanical Engineering Technology
● Civil Engineering Technology
● Electronics Engineering Technology
● Computer Engineering Technology
Wake tech will offer 124 student scholarships to participate in the program.
