‘Natural give and take’ before Google settles China dispute, Cisco’s Chambers says

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – John Chambers, chairman and chief executive officer of Cisco Systems (Nasdaq: CSCO) believes the censorship and hacking dispute between Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) and China will be worked out.
Cisco has its own major investment in the Chinese market and has had its own dispute with China-based Huawei.
In an interview at a trade show in Saudi Arabia on Monday, Chambers told Reuters that the China-Google dispute would be settled after “natural give and take.”
"I think that there will be natural give and take between technology and countries, a natural give and take between countries," he said when asked if the Google dispute could generate fallout for Cisco.
"I'm very much the optimist that the issues will be worked out regardless of differences. I have been doing business in China for 25 years, I have a lot of confidence in the Chinese leadership and I have a lot of confidence in the Internet, and I have a lot of confidence in the American leadership” he told Reuters.
Cisco employs more than 4,000 people in RTP.
