Stem cell startup Aldagen earns CEO Cancer ‘Gold Standard’

CARY, N.C. - Aldagen, a startup focused on stem cell therapies and technology, is the latest company to receive accreditation from the CEO Roundtable on Cancer.
The Cary-based non-profit group honors companies that take steps to reduce cancer risks among their employees and families with the CEO Cancer Gold Standard.
“Our Gold Standard recognizes that Aldagen’s work in developing novel biopharmaceuticals to improve health begins with a commitment to provide world-class health and wellness benefits for its employees and their family members,” said William Weldon, chairman of the CEO Roundtable.
To receive the accreditation, companies must take steps to discourage tobacco use, encourage physical activity, promote healthy diet, encourage tests for early cancer detection and support participation in clinical trials.
Other Triangle area accredited companies include Duke Medicine, GlaxoSmithKline, Pharmaceutical Product Development, Quintiles and SAS.
