HICKORY, N.C. – Eddie Edwards, a veteran executive at CommScope (NYSE: CTV), is the company’s new president and chief operating officer.
Edwards replaces Brian Garrett, who plans to retire in 2010. In the interim, Garrett, a 30-year CommScope veteran, will serve as an advisor on special projects.
“Eddie is an accomplished leader with an extensive track record of success,” said Frank Drendel, chairman and chief executive officer of CommScope, in a statement. “He is the perfect choice to continue Brian’s great work and drive CommScope to the next level through profitable growth, innovation and quality.”
Edwards had served as executive vice president and general manager for wireless network solutions.
