NetApp chairman Dan Warmenhoven receives Silicon Valley leadership award

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Dan Warmenhoven, chairman of NetApp (Nasdaq: NTAP) is the recipient of the 2009 Spirit of Slicon Valley Lifetime Achievement award.
Warmenhoven, who recently stepped aside as chief executive officer at the network storage company, is a former IBM executive who once lived in Raleigh. He also was actively involved in NetApp building a campus in RTP.
The award, which was presented Friday, is from the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
"Dan Warmenhoven is not only a highly talented and creative technology leader, he is one of Silicon Valley's finest community leaders," said Carl Guardino, president and CEO of the Leadership Group. "Along with his wife Charmaine, their contributions to the arts, the culture and the needy in Silicon Valley set the standard that each of us should try to emulate."
