ATLANTA – Veteran entrepreneur and high-tech executive George Mackie is joining venture capital firm Noro-Moseley Partners as a venture partner.
Mackie, a former entrepreneur-in-residence at venture firm Wakefield Group, is currently chairman of Insource Contract Services, a performance management company. He also founded and served as chief executive officer at DBS Systems. DBS provides the customer care and billing platform for DirecTV.
Mackie will focus on technology investments.
“George brings an incredible amount of value and expertise to the firm,” said Mike Elliottt, managing director of Noro-Moseley. “In particular, he’ll be a great resource for our IT companies and the entrepreneurs who run them.
“The NMP mission is not only to provide funding, but to also be true partners to our companies – giving them access to expertise and relevant connections,” he added. “George is a proven winner and will help us on all of those fronts.”
Mackie also served as interim CEO and chairman of Research Triangle park, N.C.-based Bloodhound Software.
