Kannapolis, N.C. —
David Murdock, the billionaire behind the building of the North Carolina Research Campus, planned to host to guests from three state universities Wednesday.
Murdock was set to give researchers from North Carolina A&T, North Carolina State and the University of North Carolina tours of interim offices that have been set up. All three universities will have a presence at the campus, which will focus on biotechnology research.
A search for facilities to accommodate UNC Greensboro and N.C. Central continues. UNC Charlotte also will have a presence at the campus.
The main laboratory building is nearing completion.
