Raleigh, N.C. —
Visiclear Tablets, a colon cleansing product owned by Salix Pharmaceuticals, will go on sale in Japan on June 15.
Zeria Pharmaceutical of Tokyo licensed Visiclear from Salix. Zeria obtained rights to the drug in 2001 from InKine Pharmaceuticals, which Salix acquired in 2005.
The product is sold in the U.S. under the name Visicol.
The drug is used to prepare people for colonoscopy exams.
