Mariner partners with Nuventive for K-12 education

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Mariner announced this week that it plans to work with Nuventive to build Mariner’s SeeChange Plans product to help improves institutional effectiveness in K-12 school districts.
Mariner is a Charlotte-based firm specializing in data warehousing, enterprise reporting and analytics, and performance management scorecards and dashboards. Nuventive provides higher education accreditation planning systems, and their TracDat product is the foundation of Mariner’s new product.
SeeChange Plans, part of Mariner's SeeChange Performance Management System for K-12, enables school districts to align their strategic goals with individual school improvement plans and their activities. It is a collaborative tool that establishes a data-driven environment that gives teachers, principals and administrators the ability to understand the data, ask questions, provide input, take action, and measure outcomes.
The result is a clear path to improving district effectiveness while sustaining a culture of accountability, the company said in a statement.
Built on Microsoft SharePoint and using the latest SQL server technology, the combined solution is a digital management tool for distributing scorecards throughout the district, ensuring vertical alignment from the central office, where strategic goals are set, all the way to the individual school.
“Ultimately leveraging data intelligently gives school districts keen insight into their current performance and how they can use their current information to improve future performance,” said Mariner Education Group Vice President David “Fitz” Fitzgerald. “We’re excited about how we can improve school planning with the Microsoft BI platform and Nuventive’s TracDat.”
Last month Mariner was recognized as a 2010 Microsoft U.S. Public Sector Partner of the Year. The company previously was named Microsoft's 2008 Worldwide Partner of the Year in Performance Management Solutions and TDWI's 2009 Best Practices Award Implementation Partner.
