Chris Heivly is making changes in his “Big Top” jobs fair just as he made changes recently at The Startup Factory.

But while TSF is winding down and no longer will fund new startups Big Top is expanding.

The latest jobs event is Wednesday night at the Frontier in RTP. And the new addition is a focus on networking.

“Where we once focused the event as a unique job fair – we are now moving to Big Top as more of a networking event,” Heivly says.

“For the first time, we will be hosting a number of professional organizations that are there to talk to you about being part of their orbit.”

Coming on board to the Big Top are folks in sales, marketing, design and more.

“The local Javascript meetup, AMA Triangle (for marketers), Sales Jam (which is a new sales collaboration group) and the New York Code & Design Academy which is new to the area will all grab a table as well as some stage time,” Heivly reports.

Jobs available

Several companies will be participating in what Heivly has called a “reverse jobs fair” where execs take to the stage to try to convince job seekers on why they should apply for a particular position.

“Big Top works for you as companies and organizations get on stage and pitch you on what is going on in their respective groups,” heivly points out.

“After the pitches, you get an opportunity to meet these leaders face to face. No resumes. No ties. No BS.”

Big Top also has drawn two new participants on the jobs front with Dude Solutions and Tanium both offering “multiple open positions,” Heivly adds.

The event is free but participants must register in advance.
