AT&T names marketing exec to head Time Warner merger transition team
AT&T has named Lori Lee, a senior executive vice president and global marketing officer to head the integration of its $85 billion merger with Time Warner when the deal closes.
Lee has been responsible for AT&T consumer products previously in its Home Solutions unit that includes broadband services and video entertainment. She directed marketing and operations.
Lee won the position over other AT&T executives thought to be in the running, John Stankey, CEO of AT&T Entertainment Group and John Stephens, CFO. Lee, however, has a strong background in entertainment, media and broadband services, all major parts of the merger.
AT&T said Lee has already begun forming her integration team.
Lee, named one of the most powerful women in Tech by the National Diversity Council in 2005, was also named one of the Most Powerful Women in Business by Forbes in 2014.
She is also on the board of the American Film Institute.
She will continue to oversee AT&T marketing.
