Chris Wynn, a senior producer at Epic Games, is the latest departure from the company.
Wynn, who was deeply involved in the latest release for Epic’s “Gears of War” franchise, announced via Twitter on Wednesday that he has taken a job at Bioware.
There he will be part of the team leading development of the latest “Mass Effect” game.
“Thrilled to announce that I will be joining @Bioware as the Sr. Development Director on the next Mass Effect!,” Wynn wrote in the tweet.
Wynn had been with Epic for a year.
Wynn had replaced Rod Fergusson, who left Epic to join Irrational Games in Boston.
“Chris Wynn, formerly of Microsoft, has worked on the Gears series for years,” Epic’s Dana Cowley told WRAL news via e-mail.
In a Twitter post, Wynn shared the news with his followers at the time:
“Excited to announce that I started my new job today…as a Sr. Producer @epicgames!,” he tweeted.
“Great people and awesome projects!”
According to his LinkedIn profile, Wynn is a “passionate lifetime gamer, with over fifteen years of experience in the video game industry. Accomplishments include shipping thirteen AAA titles totaling more than ten million units sold across all major platforms, all delivered on time and on budget.”
Before joining Epic, Wynn worked as a lead producer at Microsoft, which is the publisher for the Gears series. He also has worked at Hansoft AB and Electronic Arts,
Several veterans ranging from company President Mike Capps to creative lead Cliff Bleszinski have left Epic since China-based Tencent invested in the company a year ago.
