Forbes’ “America’s Smartest Cities” report shows North Carolina has plenty of “smarts” outside of the Capital City. While Raleigh ranks No. 7 among the 51 largest cities, Wilmington actually scores better nationally at No. 5 overall among 380 metro areas. Asheville and Durham-Chapel Hill also crack the top 15. Each city was trending on and off throughout the day. In other news, online streaming service Aereo, which at one time had the Triangle on its deployment list, says that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection – sparking some conversations in the Twitterverse. And, finally, we couldn’t close out the business week without first celebrating the day North Carolina became the 12th U.S. state and then highlighting this weekend’s annual Christmas parade in Raleigh. We absolutely loved the hashtag used on one post – #falalala – very clever.

Happy Friday! Let’s see what else the Triangle was talking about today…
